Q: How secure is this site?
A: We have taken the necessary precautions and preparations to make
sure all your purchases are made through a secure server. You can access the site by going directly to https://store.awpwriter.org. You can verify the security measures by visiting the security page. The final
step in checkout where credit card information is passed is encrypted.
Additionally, we use Authorize.net for securely processing &
safeguarding transaction information. All Purchases made on the StoreFront from this location are secure.
Q: Is my privacy protected on this site?
A: Yes.
AWP is concerned with the privacy of its members and customers. We have
taken the necessary precautions and preparations to make sure all your
purchases are made through a secure server. The administration site is
also protected by security measures and only a limited number of AWP
staff members have access to the account and order information.
At no time will your credit card information ever be stored in our
system. When making a purchase, you have the option of registering so
that your information will be stored in the system upon return visits
or checking out anonymously. We will ask for your e-mail address with
anonymous checkout only so that we can contact you if there is a
problem with your order. Otherwise, none of your information will be
stored in our system.
Conference:
Q: I am purchasing/have purchased a conference registration. How long will it take to process my purchase?
A:
We process orders as soon as possible and will email confirmation
within 3 business days of your purchase. If you do not receive
confirmation at this time, please email conference@awpwriter.org.
Q: I need to purchase more than one conference registration. How do I do this?
A: There are two ways of doing this. The first way is to add each registration to your cart one at a time and put the attendee’s name and e-mail address in the blank for each pass. When you look at your shopping cart you should see the corresponding name and e-mail address for each registration. Alternatively, you could use the quantity field to specify multiple registrations and then put all of the attendees’ names and e-mail addresses in the blank. When you look at your shopping cart you should see the full list of attendees for those passes. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
Q: What is the conference refund policy?
A: All
registrations are eligible for a 25% refund if canceled by March 8,
2010 or a 10% refund if canceled by April 6, 2010. No refunds will be
issued after the conclusion of the conference. All cancellations must
be submitted in writing to be processed.
Q: How do I get my conference registration materials?
A: Your conference badge, program, maps, and bag will be waiting for you at the pre-registration check-in desk.
Q: I purchased a student registration for the conference. Do I need to send you proof that I'm a student?
A: Not
at this time. However, when you pick up your registration materials at
the conference you MUST present a valid student ID. If you do not have
this ID you will be asked to pay the full registration price.
Q: What services/accommodations can you make for people with disabilities at the conference?
A: AWP is committed to making all reasonable arrangements that will allow members of the association to participate in conference events. If you require special services, equipment, or accommodations, please submit your request in writing along with your registration form by January 15, 2010.
Membership/Career Services:
Q: I am purchasing/have purchased an individual or affiliate AWP membership. How long will it take to process my purchase?
A: We process orders as soon as possible and will send you an AWP eLink username and password within one business day. Your membership will not begin until we have emailed you this AWP eLink information. If you are renewing your membership and your address hasn't changed, then your eLink username and password will remain the same. Q: I am purchasing/have purchased an institutional AWP membership. How long will it take to process my purchase?
A: We process orders as soon as possible and will send you an AWP eLink username and password within one business day, along with other account information. We will also mail you copies of the current Writer's Chronicle issue to be distributed to your students and faculty. Q: I am purchasing/have purchased a WC&C membership. How long will it take to process my purchase?
A: We process orders as soon as possible and will send you detailed information concerning your membership within one business day. In the mean time, please visit the "Update Your Listing" link on the WC&C home page, writersconf.org, to send us your relevant information so we can post it to our website. Q: I am purchasing/have purchased a Career Services package. How long will it take to process my purchase?
A: We process orders as soon as possible and will send you guidelines
detailing the service within one business day. Please note you must
have an active membership to AWP to use this service. Any unused
mailings will roll over at the time of expiration as long as the

Q: I am purchasing/have purchased a Writer's Chronicle subscription. How long will it take to process my purchase?
A:
We process orders as soon as possible. If you are a new subscriber, we will send you the most recent issue of the Writer's Chronicle within 24 business hours. Your subscription will begin with this current issue. If you are renewing your subscription, then you will continue to receive the Writer's Chronicle issues without any interruption. Q: I am purchasing/have purchased a book or merchandise item. How long will it take to process my purchase?
